About - THEIDQUIZ.NET

The first "THE ID QUIZ" was created in September 2006 in Honolulu, Hawaii by its creator, Tracy Nishibun. Tracy has an IT background
in computer software training and while working on a work-related project in Excel, he came across an idea for creating a functional
quiz in Excel. He took on this idea/task for the fun of it but also as a challenge to see if it could be done and in a professional looking
design that would be fun to do, even within a professional work setting as a team building or training exercise.

Tracy had taken other quizzes that were either forwarded to him or online, and one thing that he did not like was quizzes that had only
between 10 to 20 questions, which he felt was not a good barometer of someone's quiz knowledge. He was also turned off by
quizzes that were extremely difficult. He decided to settle on 50 questions per quiz as a good barometer, but also as a shout-out to
Hawaii, the 50th state. He also preferred quizzes that were visual, rather than text based. After numerous tweaks and errors, the first
"THE ID QUIZ" was born - Celebrities 1! Once the "template" was established, Tracy created a handful of other quizzes including topics
such as Logos, NCAA Helmets, NBA, Local Grinds and Cartoon Characters. He also decided to use the name "THE ID QUIZ" as a
general name for his quizzes since the quiz taker would have to "ID" the pictures that they see. In keeping with the professional look,
he added one of his personal email addresses that he rarely used and then sent them to some friends of his to try. Satisfied with
successfully completing his idea/task, he then completely forgot about the quizzes.

Fast forward to the early part of 2008 and Tracy volunteered to be part of a charitable committee at work. Since the committee
members were not familiar with each other, Tracy suddenly remembered the quizzes that he created in 2006 and thought that his
quizzes might be a good team building exercise and could possibly act as an ice-breaker, so he emailed each committee member the
Local Grinds quiz. They all enjoyed the quiz and it managed to bring the committee closer together. However, the committee enjoyed the
quiz so much that they forwarded the quiz to their respective networks. Within one month, Tracy began receiving phone calls from
relatives and friends saying that they received his quiz from their friends and they wanted to make sure that it was actually him.
Because of this surprising popularity, Tracy decided to check the email address that he put on the quiz since he had not checked it
since 2006. He was shocked to discover that there were over 100 emails, some as far back as 2006; from people he never knew who
were either requesting answers to the quiz or simply commenting on how much they enjoyed it.

Since then, Tracy has created numerous other quizzes in various topics and his quizzes have spread all over the US strictly through
email forwarding. Because of numerous requests for quizzes and people searching unsuccessfully on the Internet for them, in
September 2008, Tracy decided to create a website for his quizzes at www.theidquiz.net.

Tracy Nishibun is currently an Administrator at a utility company in Honolulu, Hawaii where he was born and raised. He has degrees in
Computer Software and Culinary Arts. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 children, sports, weightlifting,
reading to keep current with pop culture, movies and creating new quizzes!
