One day while cruising the Internet searching for a logo of the University of Hawaii football team's logo, Tracy happened across a
website called The Helmet Project at http://www.nationalchamps.net/Helmet_Project/. This site is the brainchild of Charles Arey and
it contains football helmet pictures of all current pro and college teams along with what seems like every team in existence! This is an
awesome site and Charles' work on the helmets is amazing! It is definitely worth checking out if you are a football fan.

Anyway, when Tracy saw the site, he immediately began thinking of ways to feature these helmets in a quiz. His initial thought was
to do one quiz and feature 50 of the better known teams in the nation. But as a football fan, Tracy thought that the quiz might be a
little too easy if it was limited to just 50 teams. Because there were about 120 teams in the Division I Football Bowl Subdivision
(teams that can qualify for the Bowl Championship Series or BCS), Tracy decided to do two quizzes of 50 teams each. He figured
that there were a number of teams that he would be unable to put in the quiz due to the school's name being already on the helmet.
Doing this would cut out the majority of the extra 20 teams. Tracy wasn't sure how the quiz would be received, but figured that two
quizzes would be sufficient.

This quiz was developed in 2006 before the creation of the website, and just through email forwarding, has become one of the more
popular quizzes. Males and females alike have raved about the quiz.

Due to the unexpected popularity of this quiz, Tracy later decided to create two more quizzes on historical helmets of the FBS
teams. Also, he has four more helmet quizzes in the works on teams in the Football Championship Subdivision and Division II.
